Olive Oil And Pancreatic Cancer

La Tienda

Pancreatic cancer is a very rare cancer in the Mediterranean region. This is because of a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and the abundant use of olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil  is the major factor for this disease’s underdevelopment.

Olive oil, and especially extra virgin olive oil, has the power to starve the cancer cells, because of its high content in poly-phenols and antioxidants.

The following is an article about pancreatic cancer, published in the journal Nature recently.

Developing pancreatic cancer in the body takes about twenty years.  Its growth and spread depends on the types of foods we eat and whether or not those foods starve or feed the cancer cells.

Dr. Christine lacobuzio-Donahue, MD, PhD, associate professor of pathology and oncology at Hopkins’  Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center, and her colleagues said that it takes about twelve years for the first cancer cells to develop in the pancreas. About seven more years to grow and another year to spread. Only in the last two to three years that the disease starts to kill a person.

To detect pancreatic cancer in early enough stages to be able to do something about it, is very difficult and unusual.

There are many studies that point to ways people can help prevent the disease from taking hold.

Start making dietary changes now, before it is too late. Follow a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and extra virgin olive oil, which is a major factor to cancer prevention. Using this kind of olive oil diet, you are going to the right direction.

Don’t forget that cancer is mainly a man-made disease. Polluted environment and diet are the main factors responsible for cancer. Olive oil is one of the most important ingredients to help prevent cancer.

Researchers from the Manchester University analyzed the remains of 1,000 individuals from ancient Greece and Egypt. The researchers looked into medical literature of the time, for description of cancer symptoms, as well as examining today’s remains for signs of the disease. For the first time they manage to identify cancer in one Egyptian mummy.

Professor Rosalie David, who led the study said: “In industrialized societies, cancer is second to cardiovascular disease as a cause of death. There is nothing in the natural environment that can cause cancer. It has to be a man-made disease, with roots in pollution, diet and lifestyle.”

To prevent cancer development use extra virgin olive oil, high in poly-phenols, anti-oxidants and phyto-chemicals, that can kill the cancer cells.

As I said in previous articles: “Let’s start a journey to prevent cancer witholive oil.”

“Let your food be your medicine, let your medicine be your food.”  Hippocrates.
