The Mysterious Olive Tree And Olive Oil

At the time of harvest for the olive extraction, the shaking and beating of the olives, is like all of us. We should be shaken, change our ways, repent of our sins and promise God that we”ll change our life, renew our heart and mind, and accept God’s perfect ways.

After we are shaken and start to change our lives, we must be beaten down and suffer, to become righteous. The torments and sorrows of the righteous are many, but God always delivers him out of them all. He will never allow the righteous to be destroyed.

Like the olives, we will be beaten down and crushed, to produce the fruit of God’s Kingdom. To be crushed and beaten down is hard and painful, but necessary to win the entering of the Kingdom of God.

Prophet Zechariah in his vision saw a gold lamp-stand (the Menorah of the Tabernacle) with seven channels and a bowl of olive oil on the top. The seven channels supplied the seven lights of the lamp-stand with olive oil. An olive tree on each side of the lamp-stand with two gold pipes supplied olive oil to the bowl.

The lamp-stand with seven lights means the seven eyes of God, ranging all over the earth. The two olive trees are the two anointed, to serve God. The vision is about the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel and the rebuilding of the Temple, with the abundant supply of God’s Spirit.

The olive oil for the lamp is connected to the Holy Spirit. God will disperse his light on Israel and He is going to fulfill his plan, by getting them out of their darkness. “Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit” says the Almighty.

The two gold pipes supplying olive oil to the bowl, represent the Messiah, who is the priest and King of Israel, lighting the nation. The olive oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit.

Let’s always strive to be filled with God’s oil, of the Holy Spirit.
